Marco Bezzecchi-Luca Marini: opposite moods in VR46 house
Two-sided Malaysian Grand Prix for Valentino Rossi’s team
Bittersweet Malaysian Grand Prix for Valentino Rossi’s VR46 team: Marco Bezzecchi took a sensational fourth place, while Luca Marini was forced to retire due to a technical problem.
“I am delighted, just a small flaw the start – Bezzecchi’s words – I have to admit, with some irony, that I have not yet fully understood how to manage this phase of the race. I stayed focused then and pushed hard to move up the standings. I was within a few tenths of the podium, but the tire was gone and I couldn’t do any more. The last laps were tricky, but what a great job by the whole team! Well done everyone!”
“A real pity, we had the potential to fight for the Top5 – said Luca Marini – Immediately after the start, I had a blockage at the front lowerer. It was impossible, to keep turning. I arrived very slow at the first corner, tried not to damage the other riders and then came back to the pits. It’s part of the game: we have a lot of electronics on the bike and a problem of this nature can happen. We’ve never had anything like this happen to us until now, so I’m sorry, but we’re not getting down.”
