F1, Sebastian Vettel makes a great appreciation for another driver
Aston Martin driver makes an appreciation for another driver
Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, spoke at a press conference after the Austin Gp, in which he scored seventh place after a great comeback, which was necessary after a problem during a pit stop.
The German, who was also named ‘Driver of the day,’ wanted to make an appreciation for Kevin Magnussen, the last driver overtaken before the checkered flag: “We were not fast in the straights, so I had to come up with overtakes elsewhere. On the last lap I put all my cards on the table even though Kevin Magnussen is one of the hardest drivers to overtake. I didn’t know if he would close on me, but he was very fair. Unfortunately we had an incident in the pits, it would have been nice to score more points with the sixth place we should have gotten, but then we had a problem at the pit stop and I had a lot of fun remounting and passing the other cars.”
Vettel, with two races to go in the championship, which will also be his last two Grands Prix of his career, occupies the 11th position in the championship standings, with 38 points.
It was Sebastian Vettel who was the first driver to win a world championship with Red Bull. The German put everyone in line for four years in a row, from 2010 to 2013. The Austrian stable returned to success in 2021 thanks to Dutchman Max Verstappen, with the son of art repeating the following year. If there was a battle to the last in 2021, that was not the case in 2022.
