Lorenzo Sonego out in Vienna against Ruusuvuori: another elimination on debut
Sonego eliminated by Ruusuvuori
Lorenzo Sonego was eliminated on his debut in the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna, as was also the case at last week’s tournament in Naples, then won by Musetti.
The Piedmontese surrendered in two sets to Finnish tennis player Emil Ruusuvuori, who prevailed with a score of 6-2, 6-3 in the match valid for the round of 16.
Near-perfect match of the 1999 class, in the first career clash with the Turinese, who closed the file in less than an hour and a half of play.
Key to the match were certainly the break points converted by Ruusuvuori, who managed to convert them on four out of five occasions. By contrast, the only break point Sonego had during the entire duration of the match did not go his way.
The Italian did not play a bad match, but the Finnish player’s performance was fantastic, especially in the first set, which ended in 37 minutes.
