MotoGp, Ducati: Pecco Bagnaia shrugs off comparison with Valentino Rossi in 2006
Pecco Bagnaia does not want to do with Valentino Rossi in Valencia in 2006
With just under two weeks to go until the last and decisive round of the MotoGP, world championship leader Pecco Bagnaia spoke when interviewed by ‘As’, trying to shrug off comparisons with Valentino Rossi at Valencia in 2006.
On the Spanish circuit the Doctor, who had recovered a 51-point gap from Nicky Hayden, lost the world championship to the American and it will be on the same track that the fate of the current championship will be decided.
“I’m not going to revisit or rethink that race. Right now I’m fine and I still don’t believe that I can caress the idea of winning the title. But I am quite calm. Now I don’t know what the days will be like before we get to Valencia, but I will try to stay calm at home and relax a little bit,” explained the Ducati centaur.
Francesco, aka ‘Pecco,’ Bagnaia after winning the Moto2 world championship in 2018 with Sky Racing Team VR46, will make his MotoGpin debut in 2019 riding the Ducati of Team Pramac Racing. In September 2020, he scored his first podium in the top MotoGP category at Misano. The following year he switched to the official Ducati team and finished the championship in second place, behind the French Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo.
