Giacomo Agostini feels Pecco Bagnaia will match him
The words of Giacomo Agostini
Pecco Bagnaia is two steps away from becoming world champion.
Interviewed by Sky Sport, Giacomo Agostini confirmed that he is rooting for the Ducati centaur: “Pecco is only two points away from the World Championship, for Quartararo, on the other hand, it will be hard, because he has to win the race. For our country it would be a pride, because an Italian rider would return to win the title on an Italian bike 50 years after my World Championship won in 1972 with MV Agusta.”
Francesco, aka ‘Pecco,’ Bagnaia after winning the Moto2 world championship in 2018 with Sky Racing Team VR46, will make his MotoGp debut in 2019 riding the Ducati of Team Pramac Racing. In September 2020, he scores his first podium in the top MotoGP category at Misano.
The following year he switched to the official Ducati team and finished the championship in second place, behind the French Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo.
