Luca Nardi and Giulio Zeppieri continue their march in the Ortisei Challenger: the two young talents of tricolor tennis (19 and 20 years old, respectively) have in fact clinched a place in the quarterfinals of the tournament currently underway in the Val Gardena town. Nardi beat qualifier Evgeni Karlovskyi 6-0, 6-4, while Zeppieri got the better of the derby against Stefano Travaglia in two sets (6-3, 6-2 the partials).
“I played very well, especially in the first set, I always kept the intensity high,” Nardi told the tournament organization channels. “In the second I dropped a little bit. I am happy with my performance. I am finding myself very well on this surface. The courts are quite slow so you can play well.”
“For sure it was a difficult match,” Zeppieri said instead of his match, “I tried to impose my game. Stefano is a very strong opponent if you let him play his game. I was good to command all the time. Now I still have a tough match ahead of me.”
