Tragedy in Assago: one dead, among the injured Pablo Marì of Monza
Tragedy in Assago
An episode as disconcerting as it is dramatic in Assago, on the outskirts of Milan, at a store in the Milanofiori shopping center. A man allegedly suddenly pulled out a knife and randomly struck the victims: one man, a Carrefour employee, died, other people were injured, among them Pablo Marì, a 29-year-old Spanish defender from Monza, who had come to Brianza on loan from Arsenal and was formerly with Udinese. The attacker, a 46-year-old Italian, was apprehended by Carabinieri.
Adriano Galliani, at the microphones of Tg2, reassured everyone about Pablo Marì’s condition. “Our footballer has a wound on his back that is quite deep and penetrating but no vital organs such as the lungs or anything else have been touched. It is not life-threatening, he should recover quite quickly because he has injuries but not very serious,” explained the Monza CEO. “The boy is conscious and he is being stitched up, this is the news coming from the operating room. However, it is not life-threatening,” Galliani added.
