Ducati’s sport director defends Bagnaia: “Those who criticize him are incompetent”

Ducati sport director Paolo Ciabatti in an interview with Gpone returned to talk about the much-talked-about team orders ahead of the last race in Valencia: “They seem to me to be controversies that arose very early in the season and that have no objective feedback. There is only the Zarco episode in Thailand, but it was not a brand order, just simple common sense from a rider who works for Ducati.”

“In Valencia we will give the order that a Ducati rider wins…. It’s a joke clearly, but we tried to avoid situations like the one in Argentina in 2016. If one rider can pass another safely it’s fine, if he makes a risky maneuver, that’s not what Ducati expects from its riders.”

Bagnaia needs only two points to win the title in Valencia, while Quartararo is forced to win the Grand Prix in any case.
