Vittorio Boiocchi, 69, ultras leader of Inter, died from the aftermath of a shooting that occurred in Figino, on the western outskirts of Milan.
Corriere della Sera reports that at least five shots were fired toward the man as he walked back to his home. Three bullets reached him in the chest and neck.
When news of the tragedy bounced back to the Curva Nord, ultras group leaders immediately withdrew all banners displayed at the match between Inter and Sampdoria. After the first half, fans abandoned the Curva as a sign of respect.
