Sampdoria destroyed at San Siro, Inter returns to Champions zone
The fourth consecutive Serie A victory comes in front of a mourning Meazza.
Inter unstoppable at the San Siro against Sampdoria, folded 3-0 in a one-sided challenge in which the atmosphere, however, is inevitably gloomy: in the second half the Curva Nord emptied due to the passing of the head of the organized fans, Vittorio Boiocchi. However, goals from De Vrij, Barella and Correa give Simone Inzaghi’s men third place in the standings for one night: Lazio and Atalanta are in fact joined on 24 points.
The match for Inter went downhill as early as the 21st minute, when it was De Vrij who broke the balance with a relentless shot directly off a corner taken by Calhanoglu. The Nerazzurri looked for an immediate double with the same Armenian, with Dimarco and with Bastoni, but it was Barella who found it in the 44th minute: splendid Bastoni’s throw, even more so the former Cagliari player’s lightning-fast conclusion that left Audero no chance.
Resumption at a slower pace in a half-empty stadium: Lautaro Martinez and Dzeko immediately try, then the chances seem to diminish. Then in the 73rd minute comes the blaze of Correa, who took over five minutes earlier from Dzeko and netted after a splendid personal action that even started from the defensive half of the field.
