Dorothea Wierer, conquered the Golden Crystal 2022
Golden Crystal for Dorothea Wierer
Dorothea Wierer was awarded the Cristallo d’Oro 2022, the historic award put up by the Forli Ski Club. The 32-year-old Yellow Flames’ flag bearer was confirmed in the 2021/22 season as an absolute protgonista on the World Cup circuit, winning the bronze medal in the women’s biathlon sprint at the Beijing 2022 Olympics.
The silver crystal goes instead to Fabrizio Curtaz, until last season technical director of the Italian national teams in the same discipline. The Forlì Ski Club, a Romagna-based association chaired by Marco Lelli, has been awarding the coveted prize since 1966, thanks to the happy intuition of then-President Bruno Monti.
The first winner in history was Carlo Senoner, Wierer succeeds Marta Bassino, honored last year on the FISI stage at Skipass at ModenaFiere, and Federica Brignone and Michela Moioli, winners ex aequo for 2020.
