F1, another retirement in Mexico: Fernando Alonso flails
Seventh retirement of the season for Alpine driver
Even at the Mexican GP, Alonso had to retire at the best of times. In the middle of the points zone, the Asturian was betrayed, again, by his single-seater. This time a cylinder was to blame. For the two-time World Champion it was the seventh retirement of the season.
“I was feeling great, like in the United States. One of my best races. Then I lost a cylinder. So I was left with five cylinders for 20 laps, an unbelievable thing that tastes ridiculous. Then the power unit problems. Once again number 14 stopped,” his harsh post-race outburst reported by Marca. For Alpine, the power unit reliability problems are making the Asturian very nervous.
