F1 Lewis Hamilton: surprising words about Max Verstappen
F1,seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton on Verstappen’s side after social insults
Max Verstappen and Red Bull have been overwhelmed by insults and threats on social media after the budget cap violation case, which has heated the spirits of everyone in the Formula 1 world, rekindling the old Abu Dhabi controversy.
It was the Dutchman himself who condemned in a press conference what is going on: and the world champion found support from his rival Lewis Hamilton, who sided with him in the post-race Mexico.
“Social media is becoming more and more toxic. I think we should probably stop,” the Englishman explained. “Fortunately I don’t read those comments, but social platforms and the media definitely need to do more to protect people, particularly children and women. At the moment they are not doing that yet, so I think it will continue.”
Verstappen’s teammate Perez also denounced the situation: “It’s a shame that these people behave this way. We are public figures and they think they can just insult us and our family. As sportsmen, we also have to be responsible for what we post on social media. We all have many fans, so this is important,” the words reported by Gpblog.
