Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer revealed in an interview with Bild that he has undergone three surgeries due to skin cancer.

The German fullback has launched a skin product line in recent months together with tennis player Angelique Kerber: “We both have a very personal story when it comes to skin diseases. Angelique has sun-induced hyperpigmentation, while in my case it is a skin cancer that I have had to operate on three times already.”

Neuer’s problem is on the visa, and it is related to the sun’s rays: ” We have been particularly careful not to compromise when it comes to sun protection: because I always train outdoors and I also like to spend my free time in nature.”

Currently blocked by a shoulder injury, Neuer is expected to return this weekend in the Bundesliga against Hertha, and will be 100 percent for the World Cup scheduled in a few weeks in Qatar.
