MotoGp Ducati, Pecco Bagnaia: “I’ve only now learned my lesson.”
Ducati centaur Pecco Bagnaia, one step away from the World Championship, is self-critical: “I should have scored a lot more points than I did.”
Ducati centaur Pecco Bagnaia, one step away from the world title, in an interview with Motorsport did not fail to be self-critical about the first part of his MotoGp World Championship, and his five seasonal zeros: “Every time I fell it was because I went to the limit and pushed too hard. I should have learned the lesson of last year. Because, with the potential we have, I should have scored a lot more points than I did.”
The Piedmontese driver, however, feels that he fully deserves the leadership of the World Championship: “All the drivers have had good and bad moments, but no one has made the difference like me in the second half of the season. That’s why I think I have earned my position.”
Francesco, aka ‘Pecco,’ Bagnaia after winning the Moto2 world championship in 2018 with Sky Racing Team VR46, will make his MotoGpin debut in 2019 riding the Ducati of Team Pramac Racing. In September 2020, he scored his first podium in the top MotoGP category at Misano. The following year he switched to the official Ducati team and finished the championship in second place, behind the French Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo.
