Vine’s breakthrough

Jay Vine has signed a two-year contract under which he will wear the colors of UAE Team Emirates starting next season. The 26-year-old climber made a name for himself on the cycling scene in the season that just ended, winning two fractions in the Vuelta España (his second career grand tour) and earning overall podium finishes at the Tour of Turkey and Tour of Norway.

After making his mark in the world of E-sports, Vine has successfully transferred his qualities to road cycling and can now aspire to further progress within the Emirati formation.

“I am very happy to land at UAE Team Emirates, it is a logical step in my career, as it will allow me to join a group in which I will find riders of the highest level and experience for the big rides,” he said. “My gratitude goes to Alpecin for the opportunities they have given me and for helping me find my place in the group. I have great motivation ahead of the new season with UAE Team Emirates, I have the will to further refine my general classification ambitions and, at the same time, to help my teammates achieve their goals.”
