Sbk, Alvaro Bautista pushes away the possibility of winning the World Championship
“For me it is the most difficult race on the calendar,” said the Ducati rider.
Alvaro Bautista has a chance to win the Sbk World Championship as early as this weekend at the Mandalika circuit in Indonesia.
The Spanish centaur told the media in Indonesia ahead of the race, “Mandalika will definitely be an unknown for everyone, but a little more for me because I have never been there with Ducati. It will be my second year with WorldSBK; the track is quite nice but there are a lot of question marks about the asphalt because they have redone the track, so we have to see what the conditions are like there. Then, the weather will be another key point; it will be very complicated.”
“I think, for us, we will have to be very focused, especially on Friday, because it will be important to have the reference on the track with the Ducati, try to get a good set-up and be ready for anything, because anything can happen. For me it is the most difficult race on the calendar. For me, it is more important to discover the track with the Ducati and try to have the same feeling with the bike that we have had all season. The goal is to try to get our performance and then we will see. The championship ends after Race 2 at Phillip Island; before then, it’s silly to think about the future,” Bautista concluded, pushing away the possibility of graduating world champion as early as Mandalika.
