Pecco Bagnaia champion, even Casey Stoner says thank you
A “bravo” from his predecessor.
Casey Stoner applauds Pecco Bagnaia. Before this 2022, the only season in which a Ducati rider had become MotoGP world champion was 2007, the year of the Australian’s historic feat. Who, meanwhile, wanted to pay tribute to his heir at Borgo Panigale with very clear words in an Instagram post.
“These two guys,” Stoner wrote, posting an image of Bagnaia and Quartararo, “have created a fantastic championship, taking it all the way to the last race. Congratulations to both of them for a season of hard battles and thanks for the fun.” Then a tribute, in Italian, to the newly crowned world champion: “Bravo Pecco.”
At the end of the race Bagnaia stopped on the track, bursting into tears, and was immediately congratulated by rival Fabio Quartararo and Enea Bastianini. The Piedmontese rider was joined on the track by his family, Ducati mechanics, the VR46 Academy boys and especially Valentino Rossi, who hugged him happily.
