F1, Ferrari: Mattia Binotto still absent
Ferrari’s team principal won’t even be there in Brazil
Mattia Binotto misses another Grand Prix: after the weekend in Mexico, Ferrari’s team principal will not be there even at the Brazil race in Interlagos, scheduled for next Sunday.
The reason for Binotto’s forfeit for the penultimate race of the Formula 1 World Championship is the same as the one in Mexico and his absences last season: the Maranello executive has decided to stay at the factory to work on the single-seater for 2023, with which Ferrari hopes to make the final leap to win a world title that has been missing for too long.
Heading the team in South America will be Laurent Mekies. Ferrari is still fighting for second place in the drivers’ and constructors’ standings.
