F1, Lewis Hamilton doesn’t want to know about quitting
Lewis Hamilton has no intention of quitting
Lewis Hamilton doesn’t want to know about quitting Formula 1 anytime soon. The British driver admitted in Mexico that he is working on renewing a multi-year contract with Mercedes, as reported by ‘AS’.
“I have set no limits, I am planning a multi-year contract with my team. I don’t know what the next five years will be like, I think we are still working on it. There are many things to put in place, I just launched my production company and I feel good in body and mind. So I want to continue, we can do many more things together and I want to be here. But I don’t know, if Fernando leaves I might have to think twice, because I would be the oldest guy on the grid,” said the seven-time world champion.
“A feeling has crept in that I’m near the end of my career,” Lewis continued, “I’m sure all of you in your jobs think about what to do next, if you want to go somewhere else, if you can grow. I think it’s the same for me. Being a driver is great, but I want to see how I will grow from this role. And I think you can see the work we do with Ignite (a charity initiative of the driver and Mercedes), with Mission 44 (his foundation). Toto (Wolff) has been a great leader and has allowed me to do things. When Niki (Lauda) told him how he can let me do these things, they finally understood that supporting people to improve is good for everyone.”
“I am at a good point in my life, much more stable. I have my home and I spend a lot of time in the UK when I go to see the team and family. I feel like I can lead the team to more titles,” concluded Hamilton, still in the hunt for his first win of the season.
