Andrea Masiello will not take the field Saturday against Bari in the Serie B match. After threats and insults directed at the defender via social media, Sudtirol decided to avoid the trip to Puglia for the player, who would be returning to Bari for the first time 11 years after his celebrated own goal in a derby with Lecce.
After serving his disqualification, Masiello resumed playing with Atalanta in January 2015 and then also played for Genoa.On Saturday, he would return to play against Bari at the San Nicola for the first time wearing the Alto Adige team’s jersey.
