Ferrari, Formula 1 applauds Carlos Sainz
Formula 1 applauds Carlos Sainz
Carlos Sainz can smile: in Monday’s special post-Grand Prix report card, Formula 1 promoted the Ferrari driver. “In Brazil we saw one of Carlos Sainz’s best performances considering both the race and the Sprint Race. His test acquires value if we think that he started seventh because of the penalty,” reads the official website.
“Thanks to his third place finish Sainz took home his ninth podium finish of the season and it is the first time he has actually triumphed on the podium at Interlagos since in 2019 he was promoted to third after Lewis Hamilton’s penalty for contact with Alexander Albon.”
Thumbs up also for George Russell, Mercedes, Alpine and Valtteri Bottas. In contrast, Kevin Magnussen, McLaren, Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel, and Sergio Perez failed.
Triumphing in this year’s Brazilian Grand Prix was Mercedes driver George Russell. Born in King’s Lynn on February 15, 1998, he became the 2017 GP3 Series and 2018 Formula 2 champion. He raced in Formula 1 with Williams from 2019 to 2021. His race number is 63.
