Daniil Medvedev made Novak Djokovic nervous: Nole’s confession
A difficult and crucial victory with some background.
Novak Djokovic continues his march at the ATP Finals in Turin with his third win out of three. However, it was not easy to bend the resistance of Daniil Medvedev, as the final score (6-3, 6-7, 7-6) shows. And in the press conference, the Serbian star explained what problems he had to face.
“It was not a question of any discomfort,” Djokovic clarified, “I just felt very tired after a no-holds-barred battle. I can’t say anything else. I don’t have any body parts that are giving me problems, I was dealing with general physical fatigue from the hard exchanges and the fact that the match lasted really long.”
Djokovic then revealed his approach to the challenge with Medvedev: “Some wins are worth much more than others. And before this match I was a little bit nervous, because I had to face one of the best in the world. Daniil is one of my best rivals, but regardless of qualification I wanted to beat him. When we face each other, we always want to win. We don’t make calculations, the rest doesn’t matter to us. And it’s like that for both of us.”
