Olimpia Milano, Ettore Messina bitter: “We couldn’t afford it.”
A new knockout, a lot of bitterness but also the will to find something good.
Ettore Messina analyzes his Olimpia Milano’s trip to Lithuania, where Zalgiris Kaunas won 71-62 and the meneghini picked up their fourth consecutive loss. A result that puts them in 14th place in the standings, with the race toward the playoffs becoming increasingly complicated.
“For the whole game we suffered,” admitted Messina from the belly of the Zalgirio Arena. “Then, unfortunately, when we managed to get close again, we made mistakes that prevented us from completing the task. We could not afford them, but nevertheless we made them anyway.”
However, Messina tried to pick up on the good signs seen from his Olimpia Milano: “We return home strong from the good performance of Naz Mitrou-Long. He, I think, can give us some hope, because we found a player of the really Euroleague level. We want to restart from this and many other little things that we will need until we are all able to play better together.”
