Holger Rune to Marca: “I want to become number 1.”
Holger Rune, a rising star of world tennis and a new top ten player after winning Paris-Bercy, did not hide his ambitions for 2023 in an interview with Marca: “My goal for next year is to be number one. I beat almost every player in the top 10, I want to be ready for Australia.”
Rune talked about a possible future big 4 with Alcaraz, Sinner and Auger-Aliassime: “I hope so, I would feel privileged to be part of this group. But at the moment we still cannot exclude Rafa Nadal, who has won two Grand Slam titles this year, and Novak Djokovic, who has won one. In almost every tournament they are in the finals. They have very long careers and we are very young.”
