F1, Ferrari: Mattia Binotto categorical about farewell rumors
Binotto dismisses rumors of his possible farewell
After the recent market rumors that had circulated about a possible farewell for Mattia Binotto, which was followed by a statement from Ferrari denying the whole thing, the team principal of the Maranello-based stable himself took it upon himself to reiterate the groundlessness of these rumors.
In the press conference at Yas Marina the Rossa boss put it this way, “The rumors are also related to the attention there is on Ferrari. When they began to circulate I spoke with President Elkann and from there came the statement you know in which we stressed that they were completely unfounded. I repeat, when you are at Ferrari, rumors are inevitable because of the great attention around the team. Now we just have to focus on the future, the most important thing is not to get distracted.”
“Whether I will be the team principal of Ferrari in 2023? It’s not for me to decide, but I am serene. We have had ups and downs, but we are back to being competitive. The results show that the team has worked well and is capable of getting results. We are united, there are weaknesses but we are all focused on growing. The team was outstanding in qualifying, while we need to improve in the race. I am calm and focused on what we need to do,” Binotto concluded.
