Serious bereavement for Martina Trevisan
Claudio Trevisan, father of Martina, current number one women’s tennis player in Italy and ranked 28th in the world, has passed away at the age of 75.
Trevisan passed away Friday due to the worsening of an illness that had been affecting him for some time. A former soccer player born in Cervignano del Friuli, he went as far as Serie B with Mantova, also winning the 1970-71 championship, and Sambenedettese. He also played more than 120 games between Serie C1 and C2 (with Montevarchi, Cosenza, Fano, Modena) and won a Serie D championship at Montevarchi.
He also played in Pontedera, in the 1968-69 season, and here he remained historically linked to the city’s Tennis Club, which sent a message of condolence through social networks.
Claudio Trevisan leaves behind three children: Martina, Matteo, also a tennis player and world number one in the junior category in 2007, and Claudia.
