ATP Ranking: Jannik Sinner closes ahead of Matteo Berrettini
Sinner ends year ahead of Berrettini in 2022 ATP ranking
Filed with the Turin Masters, which saw the usual Novak Djokovic triumph, who has now reached six ATP Finals titles — on a par with Roger Federer — the ATP has updated the world rankings for the last time in 2022.
Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz is the youngest tennis player to finish the year as number one, behind him compatriot Rafael Nadal, Turin finalist Casper Ruud completes the podium. Novak Djokovic rises to fifth place with his Finals success, preceded by Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. Completing the top-10 are Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, Russian Daniil Medvedev, his compatriot Andrey Rublev, American Taylor Fritz, and Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz.
Among the Italians, Jannik Sinner occupies the number 15 ranking position, ahead of compatriot Matteo Berrettini in 16th place. A few rungs down Lorenzo Musetti, in 23rd place. Closing in the top 50 is Lorenzo Sonego, world number 45 while he is just outside Fabio Fognini, at position number 56.
