Mattia Binotto gives a grade to the Maranello stable
The Formula 1 world championship has ended, and Ferrari finished the season with Charles Leclerc’s second place in the drivers’ standings and second place in the constructors’ standings, behind Red Bull.
At the end of the last Gp, at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, the team principal of the Maranello-based team, Mattia Binotto, spoke to Sky Sport giving an assessment of the season that has just ended and the rumors about his possible farewell.
“I was bothered by the rumors about me for the team, which I saw disoriented. But I am proud, they reacted united giving a strong signal. So much criticism, the backs get stronger, we will only count on ourselves. With management we will talk about the medium and long term, stability is key. Where to improve? Engine reliability, here ‘held back’ as a precaution, and race pace: strategies will come easier,” explained the Redhead executive.
Finally, a grade on Ferrari’s season: “The grade? Between 7.5 and 8, although it was not a perfect season. But the goal was to be competitive again, no one believed it, we achieved it. We didn’t promise to win, we weren’t mature. It will be the next step, the most difficult one.”
