Croatia does not go beyond 0-0 with Morocco
Scoreless draw between Croatia and Morocco
After Denmark-Tunisia and Mexico-Poland, comes the third white-net draw of the World Cup in Qatar: Croatia and Morocco remain deadlocked on their debut
The first half, lacking in spectacle and intensity, was lit up only in the final minutes with a double chance for Croatia: on the first, Morocco’s extreme defender Bounou did well to repel a shot by Vlasic on a cross from Sosa; on the second, Modric was skillful in collecting a rebound from the Moroccan defense but his shot from the edge of the box ended up just high.
In the second half, the music does not change: the teams study each other and play in mirror fashion, conceding very little. Morocco made itself dangerous with a header by Mazraoui – later forced to change due to injury – on which Livakovic was careful and a free kick by Hakimi rebounded by the Croatian goalkeeper himself. Dalic’s lineup did not create any real scoring chances, proving to be far from the one admired at the last World Cup in Russia 2018.
Croatia and Morocco thus get one point apiece in Group F, pending Belgium-Canada, scheduled for tonight at 8 p.m.
