Qatar 2022, Portugal passes with a shudder: Ghana overtaken 3-2
Portugal overcomes Ghana with a shudder
A hard-fought match between Portugal and Ghana closed the first day of Group H at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The African formation started well, which, thanks to a compact defense, managed to limit the Portuguese attack formed by, among others, Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Felix. The first half ends without much excitement, on the score of 0-0.
The second fraction would seem to follow the rhythms of the first one but, in the 63rd minute, CR7 manages to earn a penalty kick: on the penalty spot is precisely the former Real Madrid and Juventus player among others, who manages to beat the Ghanaian extreme defender Ati Zigi. The game changed, the intensity increased and Otto Addo’s men quickly found the equalizer through Andre Ayew.
Portugal’s response also came quickly, and in the 78th minute they took the lead again and two minutes later even found the 3-1 goal with Leao. The match seemed closed but in the 89th Bukari opened it again with a header that beat Diogo Costa. It is precisely the Porto goalkeeper who gives a resounding chance in the final, again to Bukari who, however, slips without being able to materialize. Fernando Santos’ men win, taking the top spot in Group H.
