Embolo goal: Switzerland ok against Cameroon

Switzerland needed only Embolo’s goal to win its first 3 points of its World Cup: the 1997 class player pierced Onana with a beautiful turn.

In the first half Cameroon gave the impression of being more dangerous but Song’s forwards never managed to trouble Sommer. Of note was the rather disappointing performance of Choupo-Moting, later replaced by Aboubakar. In the second half, on the other hand, the Helvetians, galvanized by Embolo’s goal in the 48th minute, took the reins of the game, coming close to doubling the score on more than one occasion. Partly because of Onana’s skill and partly because of inaccuracy on the part of their forwards, however, the doubling did not come.

On Thursday at 8 p.m. Brazil and Serbia, the other two components of Group G, will play each other. In the next round Cameroon will face Milinkovic-Savic and co. and Switzerland will take on Tite’s men.
