F1, Damon Hill goes down flat with Mick Schumacher
Damon Hill doesn’t mince words about Mick Schumacher
Damon Hill, during the ‘F1 Nation’ podcast, spoke among other things about the situation related to Mick Schumacher, who is currently left without a steering wheel for the 2023 season after his divorce with Haas.
The 1996 world champion did not mince words: “Mick has been driving with eyes on him all the time, running under great pressure-I think in the end this has weighed on the results. He realized that F1 is more difficult than he thought.”
“Nico Hulkenberg [Schumi Jr’s replacement at Haas in 2023, ed.] has been in this world for a long time, he can fully concentrate on driving. The team needed drivers who could get the job done without creating extra stress,” then concluded Hill, who with Mick’s dad, seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, sparked spectacular track battles in the 1990s.
