F1, Ferrari: Charles Leclerc’s message to Mattia Binotto
Leclerc greets Binotto with a message via social media
Just hours after Mattia Binotto bid farewell to the Ferrari pit wall, Charles Leclerc wanted to say goodbye to the now former team principal with a message posted on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of the two taken during this season.
“Thank you for everything, Mattia,” the Monegasque began, “We spent four very intense years together, of great satisfaction and also, inevitably, of moments that tested us. My esteem and respect for you have never failed, and we have always worked with full dedication to achieve the same goals. Good luck with everything.”
Mattia Binotto was team principal of Ferrari for four seasons: seven total race wins, five achieved by the Monegasque, one by Vettel and one by Sainz.
Charles Leclerc is the third driver from the Principality to have competed in the Formula 1 World Championship after Louis Chiron and Olivier Beretta, as well as the youngest ever to win a Grand Prix driving a Ferrari single-seater. In 2019, he made his debut with the Rossa, taking Kimi Raikkonen’s place, and in March he scored his first career pole position, in Bahrain. His first success with the Prancing Horse came at the Spa circuit in Belgium on September 1, 2019.
