Ferrari, Mattia Binotto’s resignation official
The words of Mattia Binotto
It is now official: Ferrari has announced that it has accepted the resignation of Mattia Binotto, who will leave his role as team principal of the team on December 31.
Benedetto Vigna commented, “I would like to thank Mattia for his many fundamental contributions over his 28 years at Ferrari, and in particular for his leadership that led the team to be competitive again last season. Because of this, we are in a strong position to renew our commitment, first and foremost to our incredible fans around the world, to win the most important trophy in motorsport. All of us at the Scuderia and in the broader Ferrari community wish Mattia all the best for the future.”
In contrast, Mattia Binotto said, “With the regret that this entails, I have decided to end my collaboration with Ferrari. I leave a company that I love, of which I have been a part for 28 years, with the serenity that comes from the conviction that I have made every effort to achieve the set goals. I leave a team that is united and growing. A strong team, ready, I am sure, to achieve the highest goals, to which I wish all the best for the future. I believe it is right to take this step, however difficult a decision it was for me. I thank all the people in Sports Management who have shared with me this path, made of difficulties but also of great satisfaction.”
Now begins the process of identifying Scuderia Ferrari’s new Team Principal, which is expected to be completed in the new year.
