Pecco Bagnaia as Valentino Rossi: another recognition arrives
Pesaro will confer honorary citizenship on Pecco Bagnaia
The Pesaro City Council unanimously approved Mayor Matteo Ricci’s proposal: Pecco Bagnaia will receive honorary citizenship of the Marche capital.
“We all rejoiced at his extraordinary victory that brought Italian motorcycling back to the roof of the world after so many years,” is the note reported by Ansa. “Bagnaia is a talent, who grew up under the guidance of the greatest ever, Valentino Rossi, in our territory that confirms itself as the Land of Riders and Engines. Citizenship is the right recognition for a champion who has chosen to live in Pesaro and a way to further strengthen our communication and tourism strategy for the city. Between Pesaro, Tavullia and Misano there is a worldwide unicum linked to motorcycling: history, tradition, pilots, motorcycle manufacturers. A collaboration that we want to fortify.”
“Together with the municipality of Tavullia, which has a similar idea to the one developed by us, we will decide how to build the official moment for the handing over of citizenship to make it a great celebration for the whole territory.”
“Taking into account that he moved to Pesaro a long time ago, flanked by the legend Valentino Rossi and also supported by the enthusiasm of the city that considers him a Pesaro native to all intents and purposes, and that with the victory of the title, in the queen class, of World Champion he has strengthened the name of Pesaro sports by honoring the Land of pilots and motors.”
