Sofia Goggia is already second but not satisfied
Sofia Goggia’s words
Second time trial in Lake Louise, where the top women’s World Cup speed athletes were able to taste the Canadian track again. Cards shuffled, however, by the poor visibility that forced the organization to start the test from the reserve start, at the height of the super-giant start.
The best time of the day was set by Austria’s Mirjam Puchner in 1’31″84, followed right behind at 46 hundredths by Sofia Goggia, who in turn put herself behind the other white skier Elisabeth Reisinger, third at 57 hundredths from the day’s leader.
“This second run went quite well,” said Goggia, “with flat visibility and a bit of sleet. I haven’t found the best feeling with the top six singles yet, but I’m putting it together. All in all, I would say a decent run.”
At home in Italy, the top ten is completed by Elena Curtoni, eighth at 1″20, with Laura Pirovano rising to 14th at 1″48. Next come Nadia Delago at 2″39, Nicol Delago at 2″81, Federica Brignone at 3″62, Roberta Melesi at 3″94 and Karoline Pichler at 4″83. Marta Bassino did not take part in the event.
Thursday, December 1 will be the date for the last time trial.
