Terrible tragedy in Montebello Vicentino, Veneto. Former cycling champion Davide Rebellin lost his life due to the consequences of an accident that occurred to him while he was training: according to reports in Il Giornale di Vicenza, the 51-year-old was run over by a truck along Regional Road 11, in Montebello, at the height of the “La Padana” bar and restaurant.
Suem 118 was promptly called to the scene, but health officials could only report Rebellin’s death: after 30 years of professionalism, the two-wheel ace had ended his career just over a month ago with his participation in the Veneto Classic.
Police forces are working to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.
