Griezmann loses his temper: ‘Scorned by Var’

France striker has not digested the disallowed goal at Qatar 2022

Antoine Griezmann expressed all his bitterness over the goal canceled in the final of Tunisia-France, when the referee, called back to Var after the triple whistle, changed the result of the match by taking away the goal from the transalpine forward and decreeing a 1-0 victory for the North Africans.

“I think I was already one of the first to have a goal annulled by the Var, it was against Spain,” are his words from the Bleus retreat. “It really sucks, you are not allowed to exult as you would like. Yes, I’m disappointed, but unfortunately that’s how it went. Maybe because we were already qualified, I think if we were still playing for something then things would have been different.”
