Virtus knocked out in Belgrade, Scariolo disappointed
Red Star won 83-74 at home walls
Virtus Bologna was defeated 83-74 by Red Star in Belgrade in the game valid for the 11th round of the Euroleague. After a balanced first half, the Serbs took the lead after the long break, closing out the match easily. V Nere coach Sergio Scariolo looked very disappointed after the game.
“We could have done much better,” he told Sky. “Good the first 16-17′, then we had too many distractions, and we lost concentration already from the last minutes of the second quarter. In the second half we lost too many balls, and we conceded too much in the area. Defense not up to the mark.”
“Now we move forward and try to get players back. To play at a high level on fields like this you need a special level of maturity, which we didn’t have tonight.”
