Matteo Berrettini takes stock of a “hellish” year
The words of Matteo Berrettini
End-of-season balance time for Matteo Berrettini, who spoke to the microphones of Sky Sports has: “Although it was never a continuous season because of injuries, the results were very good. When I was good I played the best tennis of my life, unfortunately then a lot of things happened. Let’s say it was a hell of a year. I would get injured and be sad, but then I would tell myself that I couldn’t wait for something to happen. On a mental level each time after a comeback I always felt stronger than the one before. And that I think was the most important thing.”
Matteo Berrettini’s return to the court will be in the Diriyah Tennis Cup from December 8 to 10: “I have never been to Saudi Arabia. It will be a difficult tournament because the level of the participants is Slam. But I also think it will be the perfect way to see how the preparation is going.”
