Through an official note Genoa announced the dismissal of Alexander Blessin and the arrival on the Grifone bench of Alberto Gilardino: “Genoa announces that coach Alexander Blessin has been relieved of his duties. The club thanks the coach for his work in these months and wishes him the best for his professional future. The technical guidance of the First Team will be entrusted to coach Alberto Gilardino on an interim basis.”
Genoa occupies the fifth place in Serie B and is fresh from the defeat against Cittadella. In the last 5 matches it has collected just 5 points and the distance from the first place is 9 points. Their next commitments are against Sudtirol, Ascoli and Frosinone.
