Primoz Roglic sees light at the end of the tunnel
Primoz Roglic is back in training
After ending the 2022 season on a bad note, with a nasty crash at the Vuelta that jeopardized his fight for the final red jersey, Primoz Roglic is ready to put behind him not only the physical consequences of the crash, but also the subsequent controversy with Fred Wright.
Interviewed by ‘WielerFlits,’ Roglic spoke about what he has done in recent weeks and his desire to return to compete and excel in 2023: “I underwent a difficult surgery, at the beginning I could barely move my arm and even today I still have some difficulties. Last week, however, I had a CT scan, the results of which allowed the doctors to give me the green light to return to bike training. There is a lot of work to be done; I want to arrive in shape for the January Jumbo Visma training camp.”
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic time trial gold medalist went on to talk about what he has been up to these past few weeks away from two wheels: “I’ve inevitably had a lot of time off, which I’ve used to devote to my charitable foundation and my family. Now, however, it’s time to get back in the saddle.”
