Yamaha, Lin Jarvis throws a dig at Ducati
Yamaha executive throws a dig at Ducati
Yamaha managing director Lin Jarvis commented on the presence of eight Ducati-powered bikes on the grid last season: in fact, in addition to the factory team, Team Gresini, Team Pramac and Mooney VR46 Racing Team are also powered by the Borgo Panigale stable.
“Is it normal for Ducati to have eight bikes on the grid? No. Is it good for the championship? No. Is it good for Yamaha? No,” the Japanese stable executive ruled.
“We would like to have four Yamaha riders back on the track in 2024; that is our wish. Now it remains to be seen if we can overcome the obstacles,” Jarvis continued, in the interview with ‘Motorsport.com’.
After six titles won by Valentino Rossi in eight years it was the Spanish riders who took the lion’s share of the MotoGp world championship. From 2012 to 2020 only they have won, with Jorge Lorenzo a two-time world champion, Marc Marquez (6) and Joan Mir, triumphant in 2020 with his Suzuki.
