“We will see how far, in terms of results, we will be able to compete.”

Reduced by the convincing victory on the parquet of Openjobmetis Varese, and after admiring, on Wednesday, the affirmation of the women’s team – which conquered, again in the Euroleague, the court of Olympiacos – the formation coached by Sergio Scariolo prepares to face the Greek roster in the 12th day of the most prestigious continental competition for clubs.

Speaking at a press conference on the eve of the match at the PIreo arena, the coach of the Felsinei showed his awareness of the difficulties to be faced, while indicating what to do to stay in the game as long as possible.

“Another game with a high difficulty coefficient awaits us, derived from the strength of the opponent. It is certainly one of the best Euroleague teams in recent years, thanks not only to some absolute top-players, but also to a system that is certainly very efficient and consolidated,” Scariolo began. “A difficult mix awaits us between the difficulties of the court, the team, the excellent work of the coach and the individual talent of some players, but on our side we are competing: we feel we are in the fight to be there until the end, we want to play a good game in Athens.”

“We need to reduce lost balls, play better third quarters, and get some minutes back from players who are not yet 100 percent, but who can rejoin the team. We travel with the goal of having a good performance, and then we will see how far, in terms of results, we will be able to compete,” he concluded.
