Reggio Emilia, Dragan Sakota explains his recipe.
The Serbian coach’s experience on the Reggiana bench has begun
Dragan Sakota was officially introduced on Friday morning as the new coach of Reggio Emilia. The goals to be achieved are salvation in Serie A and passing the round in Europe.
“I want to thank the president, the members and the whole club for the trust and the chance given to me,” Sakota explained. “I have great respect for the history and tradition of Italian basketball, with which I had a very close bond not only because of my experience in Fortitudo, but also following the career of my son, who played here for three seasons. It will not be difficult to adapt, basketball is a universal language and should not be overcomplicated.”
“My goal is to make this team better: I want to slowly get into the players’ heads, win their trust, create cooperation with them that will allow us to find results again. I don’t like those who talk about philosophy related to basketball: the patterns of play change, you have to be able to adapt, the difference is made by the way you teach them to the players.”
“It will take some time to see the results of my work, but I am optimistic and confident that, as happened to me in the takeovers I faced in recent years, the situation will improve and settle down.”
