New record for CR7 despite elimination
Portugal was eliminated from the Qatar 2022 World Cup at the hands of Morocco, and Cristiano Ronaldo left the field in tears after the triple whistle, in what was certainly his last appearance at a World Cup, although there is still no word on whether he will stay with the national team.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, however, despite being eliminated by the Lusitanians and entering the field in the second half, equaled an important record.
In fact, CR7 has reached the quota of 196 national team appearances, equaling those of Kuwait’s flag-bearer Al-Mutawa at the top of the all-time list.
