Fabio Quartararo, bitter backstory on Yamaha’s 2022
A very difficult season, for which the team even apologized.
Fabio Quartararo returned to his 2022 in MotoGP and the lost rainbow challenge with Pecco Bagnaia and Ducati. He did so in an interview with ‘Speedweek,’ in which he revealed how his difficulties were experienced at Yamaha. So much so that he thought, at one point, that the debacle might be even greater.
“Even before the championship started Yamaha apologized for the engine,” Quartararo admitted, “I wanted to try to defend the title we won in 2021. The way the season had started, however, I had the feeling that we would not win a single Grand Prix.”
“The first part of the championship went even better than expected. In the second, however, the reality of the facts manifested itself in all its brutality. After Austin I convinced myself to stop seeing everything in a negative light, and I tried to make the best of myself and what I could work with in each race.”
