Coach Ramagli enjoys derby win: “Hard-earned and well-deserved”
Universo Treviso – Tezenis Verona 77-79 in the tenth day of the Serie A championship
In a match already loaded with pressure both because of what was at stake – the two teams occupied the bottom of the standings along with Pallacanestro Reggiana with two wins in nine games – and because it was a derby, Universo Treviso and Tezenis Verona battled it out in a match that eventually saw Coach Ramagli’s boys prevail.
Speaking at the press conference after the game, the Tezenis coach did not hide his satisfaction with a game put back on its feet after a nightmarish start.
“After a dreadful start, we raised the level of intensity and quality, and this in my opinion certified our victory, which seems to me deserved by virtue of these aspects. The quality, which went up especially in the first half in the construction of shots, was the aspect that changed the inertia of the game, which was slipping dangerously into the hands of Treviso. It is a victory that was the result of a different attitude from a defensive standpoint, and an ability to recognize what the field could give us. We went for it not always scoring, but going for good shots,” the coach began.
“The second half was more in the mud, but that is normal when you are facing two teams at the bottom of the standings. The emotional aspects are very important and they, in terms of pressure, had something more than we did, and that was a very important aspect. Although at one point in the match we exchanged gifts, we made fewer,” concluded a satisfied Ramagli.
