The Spanish Grand Prix will be doneà
The Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix, scheduled for April 25-27, will not be changed despite the damage caused by Monday's flooding on March 3. Confirming the news were the managers of the Jerez circuit themselves, through an official statement on their social channels. The flood caused significant damage to the facility, particularly to the pit lane, the pits and some areas of the track. However, fortunately, no injuries were reported among the people present.
The storm that hit the area dumped more than 120 liters of rain per square meter in less than half an hour, causing severe flooding especially in turns 7, 8 and 11, due to the overflowing of the Arroyo del Gato River. Turn 13 è was the most damaged, but not so much because of the turn itself, but because of the asphalt slit on its right edge, which è was raised in several places and needs repair.
Despite the damage, the circuit let it be known that restoration work began promptly. Since the early hours of Tuesday, March 5, workers have been working to clean up the area and fix the damaged parts, and the goal is to make the track ready for the Spanish Grand Prix without delay. The circuit has reassured the public, informing them that only the most urgent activities may be slowed down in the coming days due to the cleaning operations.
The commitment of the Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit è maximum, with all human and material resources deployed to ensure that the event can take place as planned. MotoGP è is ready to return to Jerez at the end of April for the fifth round of the 2025 season, confirming that, despite the unforeseen, the activity will continue without interruption.
